In partnership with Toyota and the 2022 Tundra, HYPEGOLF hosted Range Day, an experiential tailgate at Austin’s Onion Creek Club on April 11. Introducing the Tundra to HYPEBEAST’s golf community, the traditional country club was transformed with Toyota signage displayed across the courses and captured the Toyota Tundra in action as the designated on-course shuttle, tested out by golf personality Roger Steele.

Taking to the unlimited ball ranges of Onion Creek Club, Steele tested out some of the digitally-enhanced cabin amenities distinct to the 2022 Capstone. A full-body upgrade of its 2008 predecessor, the Tundra Capstone is equipped with an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain and twin-turbo V6 engine and produces 437 horsepower, 583 lb-ft of torque, with a towing capacity of 10,340 pounds. However powerful, Toyota’s driver-oriented cabin experience is close to silent due to the sound-canceling acoustic glass paneling applied to the exterior of the doors.

A mere “Hey Toyota” activates the Intelligent Assistant, allowing passengers to request directions and traffic alerts on command. The Toyota Audio Multimedia experience includes 4G connectivity and accommodates up to five devices through a WiFi subscription.

The Toyota Tundra also introduces an array of intelligent safety features aiding in vehicle stabilization: pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert and drive mode select. Shown using “Comfort” and “Eco,” Steele interacts with the 12.3-inch Multi-Dimensional Display and Safety Sense 2.5 technology before heading to the country club.

Get a glimpse of the Toyota Tundra in action above, and stay tuned for HYPEGOLF’s forthcoming Range Day in Miami later this June. Learn more about the 2022 Toyota Tundra here.
